WELCOME TO THE PRIVACY & SECURITY OFFICIALS WORKGROUP COMMUNITY

The Privacy and Security Officials Workgroup is NCHICA’s oldest workgroup, originally established in 1996 as the Security & Confidentiality Taskforce. It’s first task was to examine NC laws on information management and how to adapt these laws to electronic medical records. More information on the Privacy and Security Officials Workgroup can be found here.

Today, members of the Privacy & Security Officials Workgroup engage in discussions surrounding cybersecurity, privacy legislation, HIPAA, breaches, BYOD, business associates, audit and compliance, among others. Members also come together to produce deliverables such as policies, tools, checklists, or white papers that benefit the membership at large.
