The week is made up of partner-driven events offering healthcare stakeholders an opportunity to unite under one banner and one message: the benefits health IT can bring to U.S. healthcare.

How has health IT affected your own patient experience? As healthcare professionals we all realize that our work will have an impact on the patient experience. What happens when the healthcare professional IS the patient? Beginning Monday, October 2nd, share with us testimonials of how technology has positively affected your own patient experience. We will highlight the best stories on our website and emails during National Health IT Week. Please submit to by Thursday, October 5th.

Share Your Obsolete Technology

Can you find old technology from the past? The search is on! Take a photo and either send via Twitter or post to NCHICA's Facebook page, and you'll be automatically entered to win a $50 Amazon gift card! The more obsolete the technology, the better your chances!! Details below. The deadline to submit is Friday, October 6th.

Christopher A. Jones, DrPH, MHA serves as Assistant Director for Informatics and Quality at the Northwest Area Health Education Center (NW AHEC), Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Dr. Jones is an Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine section on Geriatrics and Gerontology where he serves as an Educator Scholar on the Geriatrics Principles for Specialists team. He earned a Masters in Healthcare Administration at the Gillings School of Global Public Health at UNC Chapel Hill in 2009. Dr. Jones’s current research interest is in facilitating interprofessional development among healthcare teams through innovation competitions. Dr. Jones founded and manages daily operations in a Healthcare Technology Outreach Center at the NW AHEC. In his spare time Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, building custom arcade machines, distance running and cooking.

Janet Kennedy is a well-rounded marketing professional with 20+ years’ experience. She is the Producer and Host of the "Get Social Health" podcast focusing on interviews with professionals in healthcare social media discussing best practices for engagement, communication and community building. She is also the Co-Founder of Healthcare Marketing Network: a vibrant global community of freelance healthcare writers, authors, and communications creatives.
