There will be no refund for cancellations received after March 28, 2017. Substitutions are acceptable at any time. Please submit all cancellations via email to email@example.com.

Chip Baggett, JD is Senior Vice President for Advocacy and Associate General Counsel for the NC Medical Society. Chip is responsible for state level advocacy efforts as well as communications and fundraising for NCMS and NCMS Foundation. He previously served as Director of Legislative Relations at NCMS for nine years. Prior to joining NCMS, he served as CEO and Executive Director of Buncombe County Medical Society, and was a representative for Sanofi-Aventis. He earned his law degree from the NC Central University School of Law.
Leslie Greenwald, PhD, MPA is Vice President for Research Strategies at RTI International. She serves as a project director and task leader for a range of projects related to health care reform, pay-for-performance, Medicare payment, service delivery, cost and utilization analysis. She has focused her research efforts on Medicare managed care, Medicare payment systems, prescription drugs, risk adjustment, and health care reform models. She earned her PhD in Government and her MPA from the University of Virginia.
Trish Markus, JD is a Partner with Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough. Trish represents health care clients on a broad array of regulatory compliance and transactional matters, with a special focus on health information privacy, security and technology issues. She earned her law degree from Boston College Law School. She serves on the Board of Directors of the American Health Lawyers Association and is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
Darryl Meeks, CDP, ITIL, PMP is Executive Director, NC Health Information Exchange Authority. Darryl has more than 25 years of experience in IT analysis, design, development and implementation. He previously served as Director of Health IT for the NC Department of Health & Human Services, and worked for the Duke Clinical Research Institute, SciQuest and Cardinal Health.
Vivek Nanda, MD, MBA, MHA is Principal Strategy Advisor and Medical Director in Healthcare Strategy at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NC. He is responsible for advancing care quality and value-based initiatives at hospitals and health systems and leads the development, implementation and management of BCBSNC’s Pay-for-Performance programs. Vivek is a physician with over 15 years of healthcare industry experience. He earned his medical degree in India and MBA and MHA degrees from the University of Iowa.
Melanie Phelps, JD serves as Associate Executive Director of the NCMS Foundation, and as Deputy General Counsel for the NC Medical Society. She organized and directs the Toward Accountable Care Consortium and Initiative as well as the NC ACO Collaborative. Prior to joining NCMS, she worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NC in the Government Affairs Department for over five years. She is a member of the NC Bar Association and American Society of Medical Association Counsel. She received her law degree from NC Central University School of Law and holds an MA in International Relations from Duke University.
Dave Richard is Deputy Secretary for the Division of Medical Assistance (DMA), where he leads North Carolina’s $13.5 billion Medicaid program for the state’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). He previously served as the Deputy Secretary for DHHS Behavioral Health and Developmental Disability Services, and as Director of the Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse. Prior to joining DHHS, he served as Executive Director of The Arc of North Carolina for 24 years. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Education from Louisiana State University.
Roy Wyman, JD is a Partner with Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP. Roy’s practice focuses on privacy, security and regulatory concerns. He represents a wide variety of health-related organizations. He previously served as Chief Privacy Officer and Associate General Counsel for TEAMHealth, and as Senior Legal Counsel to CVS Caremark Corp. He received his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School.
