Join us for this networking event which will bring YPPs together with leaders of the Healthcare IT industry from Vidant Health System. Speed mentors are HIT professionals that speak with students and young professionals in short 1-on-1 conversations. This event is a terrific opportunity for students and young professionals to seek guidance, knowledge, and wisdom from mentors who have “been there and done that.”

Bob Speakman, VP/Chief Technology Officer brings over 30 years of IT experience across numerous IT disciplines and industries. Bob has responsibility and accountability for the people, processes, and technology that make up the overall IT infrastructure, operations, and support teams across the enterprise and is responsible for positioning the organization with appropriate technology and resources to support the needs across the growing Vidant Health enterprise. Bob is a member of Healthcare Information Management Systems Society, holds MCP, MCSA and MCSE certifications and was selected as a Judge for the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science.

Greg Nelson, VP, Analytics recently joined Vidant Health as the Vice President, Analytics and Strategy. Prior to Vidant, Greg was the founder and Chief Executive Officer of ThotWave, an analytics advisory firm specializing in healthcare analytics. Greg teaches analytics in both the School of Nursing and at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. An author with over 200 papers and publications, as an analytics evangelist and futurist, Greg has brought his 20+ years of analytics advisory work to bear through a recently published book addressing the people and process side of analytics In addition to his recent book entitled The Analytics Lifecycle (Wiley, 2018,)

Tanya Thompson, VP, Applications is a CHIME CHCIO-Eligible professional with over 21 years of health and technology leadership experience. She has been at Vidant Health since 2012 where she collaborates with operational stakeholders to develop strategy for clinical and financial systems and driving successful delivery of large-scale mission-critical initiatives. Tanya received her BS in Biology at Southeastern Louisiana University and Master of Management in Clinical Informatics from Duke University.

Tim Miller, Director, IT Planning and Service Management Tim’s experiences range from business analysis, planning, project/portfolio management and service management expanding multiple industries including financial, military and healthcare among others. A strong believer in identifying both personal and professional priorities, Tim dedicates time for reflecting on experiences for the purpose of learning and improving.

Marcy Stoots, VP, Clinical Informatics partners with the Chief Medical Information Officer to develop the strategy and plan for clinical technology adoption, ensuring a strategic data driven approach to drive cultural change and optimize clinical adoption. She is responsible for developing the organizational approach for ongoing optimization of technology solutions to support clinicians in their daily practice, as well as the methodology and tools for clinical technology implementations throughout the enterprise. She leads a team of clinical informaticists and education specialists to support the strategy and translate clinical needs into technology solutions. She is a Registered Nurse with a Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree in Clinical Informatics from Vanderbilt University.

Kirk Davis, Director, Information Security and Network Engineering has contributed his unique personality and perspective to drive excellence and innovation at startups and Fortune 100 companies alike. In 2015, he received The Center for Digital Government’s, ‘Cybersecurity Leadership and Innovation Award”, and holds numerous professional certifications including CISSP, CISM, CGEIT, CRISC. His extensive career spans healthcare, manufacturing, telecom, banking and client advisory services. Kirk says his formula is simple, “Inspire your teams to feel dignified and passionate about what they bring to the table. If you can swing that, success always finds a way to sneak up on all of you.”

Tanya Grilli, Director, End User Services is the Director of End User Services at Vidant Health for the past three and a half years. Prior to that she was Assistant Vice President of Infrastructure Field Services with Catholic Health Services of Long Island for 15 years. With over 19 years’ experience in the healthcare information technology field, she has focused her career on leadership in areas that drive end user experience. Tanya enjoys mentoring and has participated in Computer Associates DigiGirlz program, which gives high school age girls an opportunity to learn about information technology careers and Eastern Carolina University Business Departments’ networking dinners and career fairs. Outside of work, Tanya loves to read and spend time with friends and family traveling.

Mike Pridgen, Director, Servers & Storage has over 24 years of experience in Healthcare IT and is responsible for leading the IT Infrastructure strategy, implementation, and operations for Vidant Health. During his career he has served in a variety of engineering and leadership capacities and holds certifications in Datacenter and cloud technologies. He earned his BS in Computer Science from East Carolina University.
